Position Description/Overview:
The Tax Data Analyst creates, enhances and maintains demos for federal and state income tax. The analyst will primarily be responsible for creating new and enhancing existing foundational data and managing that data to prepare the documents for income tax purpose.
Job Duties:
•Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and prepare necessary paperwork for quarterly and annual income tax reports, including quarterly estimated tax, annual tax return , transfer pricing, borrowing cost, cost allocation, PL breakdown and so on.
•Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality to organize the company’s tax database
•Prepare tax payments and tax sharing schedule among other entities
•Prepares tax provision schedules.
•Work with management to identify tax savings and suggest ways to increase profits
•Prepares documents to IRS and state and local tax authorities for tax auditing purpose.
•Maintains compliance with regulations by forwarding required information to federal, state, and local authorities.
•Other tax projects as they arise
Knowledge/Skill Requirements:
§ Proven work experience as a Data Analyst
§ With knowledge of income tax
§ Able to effectively prepare data and reports as required
§ Technical expertise regarding data models and data mining on database with SQL
§ Strong skills in using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, R, SAS etc)
• Must be a good team member and can cooperate with other employees
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or Master degree in Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics required; with Accounting and Finance knowledge is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a business statistics, data, or analytical position; 5 years of similar experience is preferred.
